How a dryer vent reroute actually goes

We start by mapping the existing run. Dryer comes out, transition hose off, wall plate open. A camera or rod tells us where the duct really goes, often not where the homeowner thinks. Then we pick a new termination point and confirm framing and utilities behind it. New rigid metal duct goes in, joints taped and foil-sealed, no screws pointing inward. The old opening gets patched and the hood gets a proper damper. Last step is an airflow check at the outlet with the dryer running hot.

Route choice is mostly a Jacksonville housing question. Slab-on-grade block ranches usually get a short exterior-wall run. That's the best outcome. Garage-corner dryers can vent through the side wall or above the door. Second-floor laundry rooms in newer subdivisions often run vertical to a roof cap, and that is the run we most want to shorten.
